«Autorretrato II» unfolds as a spectral figure, a fragmented body drawn with rough lines and infused with the immediacy of gesture. The piece belongs to a Neo-Expressionist and Brutalist tradition, where the human form is less an image of likeness than a trace of psychic turbulence.

The vertical streaks of cyan and crimson, cutting through the torso, act as wounds, energies, and channels that split and at the same time unite the figure. Around them, the charcoal lines evoke both architectural structures and unstable shadows, situating the body in a liminal, shifting space.

The nude figure, barely sustained by the marks that outline it, seems to dissolve into its own absence. Yet, the explicit rendering of the phallus emphasizes sexuality as a central axis of identity. Its disproportionate presence functions simultaneously as a symbol of desire, virility, and vulnerability, turning the body into a battlefield between erotic drive and disintegration.

The ambiguity of form reflects fragility, eroticism, and violence in a simultaneous gesture. This work confronts the viewer with the instability of identity and the raw exposure of the self, in a dialogue between presence and disappearance.

The piece situates itself within Art Brut and Neo-Expressionism, with echoes of psychic automatism and surrealist figuration.

«Autorretrato II» se despliega como una figura espectral, un cuerpo fragmentado trazado con líneas ásperas e impregnado de la inmediatez del gesto. La obra pertenece a una tradición neoexpresionista y brutalista, donde la figura humana es menos imagen de semejanza que huella de turbulencia psíquica.

Las franjas verticales de cian y carmín, que atraviesan el torso, funcionan como heridas, energías y canales que dividen y al mismo tiempo unifican la figura. A su alrededor, las líneas de carbón evocan tanto estructuras arquitectónicas como sombras inestables, situando el cuerpo en un espacio liminar y cambiante.

La figura desnuda, apenas sostenida por las marcas que la delinean, parece disolverse en su propia ausencia. Sin embargo, la representación explícita del miembro resalta la sexualidad como eje central de identidad. Su presencia desproporcionada funciona al mismo tiempo como símbolo de deseo, virilidad y vulnerabilidad, convirtiendo al cuerpo en un campo de tensión entre impulso erótico y desintegración.

La ambigüedad de la forma refleja fragilidad, erotismo y violencia en un mismo gesto. Esta obra enfrenta al espectador con la inestabilidad de la identidad y la exposición cruda del yo, en un diálogo entre presencia y desaparición.

La pieza se inscribe dentro del Art Brut y el Neoexpresionismo, con ecos del automatismo psíquico y la figuración surrealista.
